Membership Update - January 20th 2025

 

Center Lakes Association would like to announce some important changes to the membership
rates and the membership sign-up and renewal process. These changes were implemented to
increase the effectiveness of CLA’s ability to administer memberships while remaining focused
on our mission.

The first change is in regard to membership rates. As many of you are probably aware, CLA’s
members voted at the June 2024 membership meeting to increase rates to $45 for
basic/associate memberships and $85 for premium memberships. Corporate memberships
remain unchanged at $150. These increases will not only help offset the increasing costs of
weed treatments, but aid in our ability to address the treatment of weeds in years of limited
grant funding.

We have a couple of changes in how members will now sign up for their annual membership.
These changes were designed to mitigate questions and confusion on membership payment
status. To accomplish this, we are emphasizing the preferred method of signing up and paying
online via CLA’s secure website. This will eliminate the option to sign up through Lake
Management, Inc. (LMI) when ordering your property’s weed treatments and allow LMI to do
what they do best…provide consultation and application of weed treatments. Please note that
although online payments are preferred, we will still accept check payments as well.

The second change to the payment process is the discontinuation of the auto-renew feature.
Each member must now sign up for membership every year, eliminating the need to remember
whether your membership will auto-renew…and when. If you are currently set up for auto-renew, that will be cancelled, and you will receive an email notification informing you of the cancellation.

It is important to remember that regardless of when you pay your annual membership, it
represents membership for a specific fiscal year. CLA’s fiscal year runs from April 1st through
March 31st of the following year. This payment portal was designed to make it clear as to
which fiscal year you are signing up for.
